5 Music Videos: Year 13
Music Videos
1. Drivers license- Olivia Rodrigo- one female actor, + a males shoulder
Sets the scene with a moving car driving down a long, lonely road. The idea of it being a lonely road suggests that the mood is quite emotional and deep. This gives the audience the thoughts that the actor is singing about a past experience or something they are currently going through.
.Long shot, Medium shot, Body shot, Close up
.LED lights? The colours set the mood, (blue, purple)
.The music has a constant beat (heart beat impression?)
2. Remember that night- Sara Kays- one female actor
The shots taken have a natural everyday setting, almost not planned out. The sunset suggests a thought or memory. Acting out what is being sung.
.Long shots, close up shots, medium shots
.Driving shots- Action shots.
3. Therefore I am- Billie Ellish- One female actor
.Set in a shopping centre, ( uses the things around her, ie, the lift, escalator, shops etc).
In this music video it is all about how she dances and acts. Her herself carries the video and the song and location follows behind her (suggests its not as important?).
.Mostly low shots, different angles throughout ( more of a edgy look).
4.One more I love you- Alex Warren- Little boy, looking at his dad
Focuses on shots of a little boy, set in his bedroom (watching him grow up dealing with his ill father and an alcoholic mother)- Wants his dad to get better.
.Whats to see his family back to how it once was. (Drowning in the alcohol his mum is drinking)
.The shots keep switching between scenes of him stood in the streets when its raining and on his own i the countryside. This could suggest that the rain symbolises his emotions and tears he has cried growing up, and being in the countryside alone suggests that hes been lonely his whole life.
5. Hideaway- Kiesza- Dancing
Set in the streets of America. Walking as if she is the main focus. Draws the audience in.
Duet section with a female and male. Lifting section then goes into full dance section.
. The camera starts with a straight on shot of down the street. The begins to switch up when the dance breaks happen, the camera tends to follow the directions of the dancers.
